Prof. Yousef Al Abdallat, Professor of Engineering, University of Jordan

Prof. Al-Abdallat (Ph.D. in Engineering from Kyoto University, Japan), is the manager of the National Program for Linkage Academic Institutes with Industrial Sectors "Faculty for Factory” (FFF) since 2008. The Faculty for Factory program – booted in 2003 as an initiative, aims to strengthen the role of Applied Scientific Research, where it brings both academia and industrial practices in one crucible to reach for optimum results and benefits for all parties and stakeholders. This Jordanian program, cooperatively, connects all industrial sectors and fields with the academia represented by professors, instructors, lecturers and students through the four industrial chambers in Jordan. It had expanded to embrace not only the industrial sector but also commercial, services and agricultural sectors. “FFF” is considered as one of the national collaborative innovations where in the participated academic staff improve their practical knowledge and terminologies, concurrently to boost both performance and growth of the participated organizations and enable them to reach for the deemed technical expertise to develop their products, and solve relevant problems. Prior to being a director for the Faculty for Factory program, Dr. Yousef has held the position of the Dean of Student Affairs at German Jordanian University and chairman of the Industrial Engineering Department at University of Jordan, plus Assistant to the Dean of Students Affairs at the university of Jordan and the director of “King Abdullah II Fund for Development”-Office for Career counselling for a period of 6 years. He is also Board member of Center for Economic & Industrial Studies (Jordan Chamber of Industry). He participated as an Evaluator for various industry reinforcement programs funded by U.S Agency for International Development and European Union. His research and teaching activities have focused on issues of manufacturing engineering processes, material sciences, and biomedical engineering. His professional activities are extensive. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Jordan University of Science and Technology. A Board member and founder of Jordanian Human Resources Management Association (JHRMA). A member in various official authorities’ committees such as Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, Higher Education Accreditation Committee and Higher Council of Technology. Recently Prof. AlAbdallat participated in a team of academics working with the Crisis Cell that was allocated by the National Center for Security and Crisis Management to deal with Corona pandemic (Covid-19 Crisis). Also Prof. AlAbdallat a member of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Committee, which is part of the four government committees formed by the Prime Minister, which is came in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to expand the local capabilities to produce medicines, manufacture medical equipment, and promote food and agricultural industries, and to ensure continued production and sustainability, to deal with Corona pandemic (Covid-19 Crisis), also Prof. AlAbdallat Member of Board of Directors for Jordan Cement Factories (Lafarge) and Member of Standing Advisory Committee of European Patent Office (SACEPO). Professor, and Sr. management consultant in Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I), +20 years of experience in transforming theoretical and academic subjects into practical and experimental reality (industry and academia), familiar with topics of innovation, digital transformation, and business continuity.
