Prof. Olle Eriksson

Olle Eriksson received his PhD degree 1989 at Uppsala University in Sweden, under the supervision of Prof. B.Johansson. In 2002 he took the position as Chair Professor for the research program Theoretical Magnetism, Physics Department, Uppsala University, a research environment that now hosts approximately 150 scientists focused on solid state theory. He has published ~800 scientific papers of which approximately half are in The Physical Review B and some 75 in high profile journals like Science, Nature, PNAS and The Physical Review Letters. Olle Eriksson has supervised over 60 PhD students to exam, and has been advisor of over 30 postdocs. He has been awarded several prizes and distinctions for his contributions to science, the most prominent are: * 2019 Recipient of ERC Synergy grant SyG3D, ERC-2019-SyG for the FASTCORR Project (Ultrafast dynamics of correlated electrons in solids) * 2018 Honorary doctor, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm * 2018 Celsiusmedaljen i guld, from the Royal Society of Sciences. * 2014 Rådsprofessor at the Swedish Research Council, (5 MEuro) * 2013 Awarded Mats Leijons prize for social engagement at work. * 2010 Recipient of the Wallenberg Scholar grant * 2009 Recipient of ERC advanced research grant * 2002 “Thureus priset", from the Royal Society of Sciences. * 2002 Awarded "Göran Gustafsson priset", from the Royal Swedish Acad. of Sciences. * 2001 Awarded "Wallmarkska priset" 2001, from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
